Hannah is a strategic communications and public policy professional with more than 20 years’ experience in senior management roles encompassing strategic communications; government relations; media management; community and stakeholder engagement; marketing; small business operations and political campaigning. For the better part of the last decade, Hannah has held senior management, communications and government relations roles in the education and not-for-profit sectors. Hannah has been Speechwriter and Senior Policy Advisor to two Western Australian Premiers, Mark McGowan and Dr Geoff Gallop.
Working throughout the public and private sectors, including most recently as an executive within the not-for-profit organisation appointed by the McGowan Government to deliver Western Australia’s new container deposit scheme, Hannah brings to Hawker Britton her extensive experience building and sustaining an organisation’s reputation and social licence through effective government relations, community engagement, positive media generation, stakeholder collaboration and, importantly, leveraging the interplay between policy and politics to the strategic benefit of clients.
Hannah has been endorsed by WA Labor as a candidate for Federal and State elections, with the Labor Party utilising her media expertise and ‘pair of safe hands’ to be the Party’s media spokesperson for candidates in Western Australia. As the ALP candidate for the marginal electorate of Swan at the 2019 Australian Federal Election, Hannah achieved both a primary and two-party preferred swing to the ALP – one of only five non-ALP-held key marginal seats across the country to do so. Hannah is highly regarded by both the political and organisational branches of the labour movement in Western Australia and nationally.
Hannah’s broad business and political experience, plethora of transferable skills and knowledge, and reputation within the WA Labor Government and private sector is an invaluable asset and resource for Hawker Britton clients.
