Bruce Hawker

Bruce Hawker has an in-depth knowledge of the three planks of public affairs: government relations, campaigning and strategic communications.

In the 1980s Bruce worked for the State Attorney-General and the Minister for Housing and spent nine years as former NSW Premier Bob Carr's Chief of Staff. For the past 10 years he has been Managing Director of Hawker Britton.

Bruce has a strong grasp of the priorities of both the public and private sectors.

A lawyer by training, Bruce maintains a strong presence in both Australian politics and the Australian media.

Since establishing Hawker Britton in 1997, he has continued to serve as a key political strategist in State, Territory and Federal election campaigns. His expertise in political strategy and campaigning brings a fresh approach to decision making in the corporate boardroom.

Bruce is a political commentator and media expert. He is regularly invited to speak on the ABC Radio, Channel 7's Sunrise, and SkyNews Australian Agenda.

In addition, he has contributed to a number of publications on public affairs policy matters including The Australian, the Daily Telegraph and the Australian Financial Review newspapers.

Bruce has also addressed international conferences and meetings on a range of topics including public-private partnerships as a means to provide public sector infrastructure in Australia.

He has an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland and a law degree from the University of NSW.
