The South Australian economy continues to experience strong growth, presenting many opportunities for business.

In particular, the state's exploration and mining industries are booming, underpinned by the Rann Government's five-year $22.5 million Plan for Accelerating Exploration (PACE) which is aiming for mineral production and processing worth $4 billion by 2020.

South Australia's information and communications technology industries base is also very strong as one of the fastest growing in Australia, while the defence industry goes from strength to strength. South Australia is home to the multi-billion dollar Air Warfare Destroyer building program.

South Australia continues to maintain its AAA rating, with extremely positive implications for business and investment. The university sector and international education is a particular focus. The state also provides valuable opportunities to Australian businesses, especially those in primary industries, transport, infrastructure, information technology and communications.
