NSW Government to Call Expressions of Interest for Electricity Reform

Today the Rees Government announced it will call for expressions of interest (EOI) from potential investors in the Government’s energy reform process following the successful completion of international market soundings on the proposals.

Finance Minister Joe Tripodi said several investors have signalled their intention to participate in the sale.

EOI’s will proceed in July/August this year.

Investors consulted included generators, retailers, integrated utilities, generation developers, infrastructure investors, private equity and sovereign wealth funds and other financiers and trading houses.

NSW is Australia’s biggest and most important electricity market.
