Northern Territory Cabinet Reshuffle

Northern Territory Chief Minister Clare Martin today announced a cabinet reshuffle.

Notable changes include:

Christopher Natt has been promoted to the Ministry with the Primary Industries and Fisheries, and Mines and Energy portfolios;

Sydney Stirling retains the Treasury portfolio and becomes Attorney General and Minister for Justice, relinquishing the Education portfolio;

Paul Henderson will now be responsible for Employment, Education and Training, and for Tourism;

Christopher Burns takes over the Health portfolio as well as Police, Fire and Emergency Services;

Kon Vatskalis is the new Minister for Business and Economic Development, and Regional Development;

Delia Lawrie takes on responsibility for Planning and Lands, Infrastructure and Transport, and retains the portfolio of Family and Community Services;

Elliot McAdam adds Central Australia and Communications to his portfolio responsibilities.

With the new ministers, some changes have also been made to Parliamentary Committees:

Kerry Sacilotto is the new Chair of the Sport and Youth Committee;

Barbara McCarthy will now be Co-chair of the Statehood Committee and Chair of the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee;
