On 6 April 2006, the new SA Liberal Leader Mr Iain Evans MP announced his new Shadow Ministry and Parliamentary Secretaries. Mr Evans succeeded Rob Kerin who stood down from the leadership in line with a pledge given before the 18 March 2006 election to do so if defeated.
Both Mr Evans and his Deputy Vickie Chapman were challenged for their positions but comfortably won their ballots. Both challengers, Isobel Redmond and Mitch Williams are in the frontbench along with former Leader Rob Kerin.
With the exception of treasury spokesman Rob Lucas in the Upper House, all other major portfolios are held in the same House as their Government counter-part.
The Opposition has created 13 Shadow Ministers plus two Parliamentary Secretaries. The Government has 15 Ministers (including the two non Labor Ministers) plus Parliamentary Secretaries.
